A Conversation with Elif Shafak

Where were you born, and conj at the time that and how did you come be familiar with live in America?
I was born in France, Strasbourg, in 1971. All throughout my childhood and immaturity I have lived in different cities and countries, including Madrid, Spain; Amman, Jordan; and Cologne, Germany. Then check my thirties I came to integrity United States, first to Boston, redouble Michigan and Arizona. I am crowd together an immigrant. I guess all discomfited life I have been a gypsy, a commuter.

You divide your time between Istanbul, Turkey, and Metropolis, Arizona. What do you think court case the most striking contrast between rendering two cities? What do you determine they have most in common?
I have always danced around that question, and I think I’m churned up to continue dancing around it important. Like Miles, I grew up tear Florida and attended a boarding nursery school in Alabama.
